From the Vines to the Wine Cellar

Inspiration.

Beautiful vines.

There is something so amazing about vineyards.

Tommy is creating a wine cellar in our basement.

Love it :)

Hugs and happy Friday!

Gem in the city

Crown Hill Cemetery - Indianapolis

We were so blessed in our home sale.  We listed our home with Mike Duncan Real Estate Group and had 7 showings in the first week, a full-price offer in 8 days (which fell through) another full-price offer the follow day (which went through).  So in the 2 weeks we were showing the house we had something like 10 showings.  What a blessing!  We could not have asked for a better home-sale experience.  We are still pinching ourselves that it went so fast and so smoothly.

ANYWAY.  The point is we had to get very creative with our little "outings" because we were constantly leaving the house for hours at a time, trying not to spend very much money, but needing to entertain two children.

For those who have sold a home, you know the craziness involved in showings.  You get the call "We would like to show your house in 2 hours" - then comes the FRANTIC cleaning and picking-up.  Then you leave the house EXHAUSTED when all you want to do is crash on the sofa.

One day when we left the house for a showing we visited Crown Hill Cemetery.

BEAUTIFUL isn't even the word.

The highest point in the city with AMAZING views

This is Tommy's toy, our Hummer H3.  :)

Tommy says its our first married-car that he has LOVED.  and he does.  He loves it.

At first I felt like I was driving a tank, but now I am used it and  really enjoy it.

I think its funny that he tried to convince his co-workers, at the time, that I picked it out because I loved it.  What???

I can't believe I lived in Indianapolis for 13 years and never visited this landmark.

Breathtaking, gem in the city.

Hugs and happy new discoveries!

Aldi find of the week

I L.O.V.E. Aldi Grocery Store.

I have found that you simply CAN NOT beat their prices on most every grocery item imaginable.

I distinctly remember my first Aldi visit.  I was thankful that someone forewarned me that you have to take your own quarter to get your cart.  And that you have to bag your own groceries.

I was a little nervous at first.  I packed up the kids and we ventured in.

That was 3 years ago and we have been going almost weekly ever since.

Some things at Aldi are not our favorite.  We choose to buy our meat, milk and eggs elsewhere (to buy organic, grass-fed if we can find it) but the MAJORITY of our groceries purchased there.

I thought I would share my favorite finds from this weeks trip.

16.9 oz Balsamic Vinegar on sale for $1.49

17 oz jar of Olive Oil for $3.49.

I KNOW that at a local grocery chain the two of these together would EASILY be $12.00, but I found them both for a total of $5.00 (If I have time this week I will run in said store and check their prices)

Hugs and happy grocery shopping!

My sillies

I remember when we took this picture back in March.

We lived in  Indianapolis and I was taking Olivia to a church function for her class.

Before we left I said "Lets get a picture!" mostly because I REALLY liked the outfit Olivia put together.

I love ALL of her outfits.

I know I am a tad biased, but I think she has great style.

I pray often that she holds onto the graceful-confidence God has given her.  She has some really great, unique ideas for the way she expresses herself through her clothing, and I love that she is confident in her choices.  Its inspiring!

Side note:  The outfit Logan is wearing was his "uniform" for about 6 months.  He wanted to wear it EVERYDAY.

 E.V.E.R.Y.D.A.Y.

If it was cold, he would put a pair of sweatpants over the shorts.

1 pair.

He has many pairs to choose from.

But he only wanted to wear the blue and gray ones.

I washed that outfit almost everyday.

It may sounds silly, but it made him happy.

Anyway, love this picture of my sillies.  It really shows their personalities.  Their funny expressions, and even their sense of style.

Hugs and happy Saturday!

French

(I know this picture is sort of blurry)

I have ALWAYS wanted French doors!

I love them.

I'm pretty sure I love all things French.

Our new favorite library-find is a French children's CD, lots of CUTIE French songs we can't even understand.  But we love it!

and I'm also crazy about the guy on the phone in the pic (that's his office)...  :)

Hugs and happy Friday!
